Phyllolitorins
The two peptides Leu8-phyllolitorin [QLWAVGSLM] and Phe8-phyllolitorin [QLWAVGSFM] have been identified in skin secretions of Phyllomedusa sauvagei (Sauvage's leaf frog) (Erspamer et al, 1985; Yasuhara et al, 1983). The cDNAs, which are identical except for a single T to C difference in the codon coding for the Phe or Leu residue of phyllolitorin, have been cloned by Nagalla et al (1994). The two peptides encoded by the two prohormone cDNAs are related to Bombesin.
