[Osteoclast inhibitory lectin-related protein 2] Other designations for this protein are CLEC2I [C-type lectin domain family 2 member I] and CLR-g [C-type lectin-related molecule-g].
The gene for this murine membrane-bound C-type lectin has been cloned by Zhou et al (2002). The protein (217 amino acids) shares substantial identity with the murine osteoclast inhibitory lectin OCIL (75 % in the extracellular domain). The protein inhibits osteoclast formation in murine bone marrow cultures treated with M-CSF and RANKL
