[Osteoclast inhibitory lectin-related protein 1] Another designation for this protein is CLEC2G [C-type lectin domain family 2 member G].

The gene for this murine membrane-bound C-type lectin has been cloned by Zhou et al (2002). The protein (218 amino acids) shares substantial identity with the murine osteoclast inhibitory lectin OCIL (83 % in the extracellular domain). The protein inhibits osteoclast formation in murine bone marrow cultures treated with M-CSF and RANKL with a potency similar to murine OCIL.
