NT-4
[neurotrophin-4, neuronotrophin-4, neurotrophic factor-4] The approved gene symbol is NTF4. This factor of 123 amino acids is synthesized as a precursor of 236 amino acids. The amino acid sequence of NT-4 is less conserved than those of other Neurotrophins. It displays 50-60 % homology with NT-3, NGF and BDNF (brain-derived neurotrophic factor) (Hallböök et al, 1991; see also: NT-5). The human NT-4 gene maps to chromosome19q13.3 (Ip et al, 1992).
