[neuropeptide NA] this peptide of 15 amino acids (NAWGPWSKEQLSPQA), named neuropeptide NA from its flanking amina acid residues, is derived from the precursor of rat neuropeptide FF, spanning positions 85-99 (NPNA(85-99) [neuropeptide FF(85-99)]) (Dylag et al, 2008; Suder et al, 2008). NPNA has been shown to block the expression of conditioned place preference induced by morphine and reverses the antinociceptive activity of morphine in the tail-immersion test in rats.
For other proteins (or fragments thereof) with at least one additional activity that differs from the established 'classical' activity of the parent protein see also: Dual identity proteins and Cryptides MiniCOPE Dictionary.
