The encoded protein is a member of the nucleoside diphosphate kinase family of proteins and is known also as nm23-H6 [nonmetastatic gene 23 homolog 6] (Tsuiki et al, 1999) (see also: nm23) or Nucleoside diphosphate kinase 6 [NDP kinase 6]. Tsuiki et al (1999) have reported that NME6 can undergo autophosphorylation.
