[metanephros-derived tubulogenic factor] The mRNA (759 nucleotides) encoding this factor has been identified in developing kidney. Addition of recombinant MTF protein promotes ureteric bud branching in cultured metanephroi and increases cell proliferation. Inhibition of MTF with antisense oligonucleotides impair ureteric bud branching by cultured metanephroi.
