Lacrain
This short peptide with the sequence RYPAVGYT has been isolated from the body extract of the Brazilian Chilopoda Scolopendra viridicornis (Chaparro and da Silva, 2016). The peptide is active only against Gram-negative bacteria, showing strong bactericidal activity against Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Alcaligenes faecalis, Serratia marcescens, Enterobacter cloacae, Salmonella serovars, Salmonella enterica subsp. arizonae, Escherichia coli. It is not hemolytic for human erythrocytes.
