[Lys-Ile-Ser-Gln-Tyr-Tyr-Gln-Lys] This peptide corresponds to casein-alpha-s2(182-189) [Alpha-s2-casein(182-189) or CSN1S2(182-189)], a fragment of casein-alpha-s2 (Alpha-s2-casein), isolated from Ethawah breed goat milk (Rohmah et al, 2015). The bioactive peptide has been shown to be able to bind transcription factor STAT3 at its transactivation domain and therefore may act as an anti-inflammatory agent via JAK-STAT signal transduction cascade at the cellular level.
