IL17C
[interleukin-17C] IL17C is related to IL17 (approximately 27 % amino acid identity). IL17C is not active in an IL17 assay and does not bind to the extracellular domain of the human IL17 receptor.
The expression pattern of IL17C is not known but it is not expressed in tissues found to express IL17B. IL17B is not expressed in activated T-cells. IL17C but not IL17, stimulates the release of TNF-alpha and IL1-beta in the monocytic cell line, THP-1. It does not induce expression of IL1-alpha, IL6, IFN-gamma, or G-CSF in these
