IL12-p35

the p35 (35 kDa) subunit of IL12. Johansson et al (2002) have identified an alternate mRNA isoform of human IL12-p35 gene, which differs from normal p35 transcripts by the deletion of exon 3. This splice isoform is produced by both dendritic cells and Epstein-Barr virus-transformed B-cells and is detected only when transcription of normal p35 mRNA is abundant.

This subunit of IL12 is also one of the components of the heterodimeric cytokine IL35.
