[His-Leu-Pro-Leu-Pro] This peptide can be obtained by hydrolysis of casein-beta and corresponds to beta-casein(134-138) (casein-beta(134-138)) (Quirós A et al, 2012).
Oral administration of the peptide to spontaneously hypertensive rats shows clear decreases in systolic blood pressure and diastolic blood pressure (Miguel et al, 2010). HLPLP is rapidly absorbed and eliminated after oral administration, biotransformed into smaller fragments LPLP and HLPL, and distributed throughout the body by the circulation blood (Sánchez-Rivera L et al, 2014).
