GFB-111

GFB-111 is a designer binding protein that binds to PDGF (IC50 = 250 nM) and prevents it from binding to its receptor tyrosine kinase.

GFB-111 also affects EGF, IGF-1, aFGF, bFGF, and HRG-beta (IC50 values > 100 microM). GBF-111 also inhibits tyrosine phosphorylation of Flk-1 induced by VEGF (IC50 of 10 microM). Treatment of nude mice bearing transplanted human tumors has been shown to result in a significant inhibition of tumor growth and angiogenesis (Blaskovich et al, 2000; Sebti and Hamilton, 2000).
