FLIP1
[LKB1 interacting protein FLIP1] This protein, identified by Liu et al (2003) interacts with the LKB1 gene product, mutated forms of which have been shown to be responsible for Peutz-Jeghers syndrome, a hereditary disorder predisposing to benign and malignant tumors in multiple organs.
Human LKB1 interacting protein FLIP1 encodes a cytoplasmic protein of 429 amino acids which is expressed ubiquitously in all human tissues. Ectopic expression of FLIP1 selectively blocks activation of NF-kappa-B in response to cytokines. Sequence analysis shows that the protein is identical with ABIN-2.
