FHR-5

[complement factor H related 5; Complement factor H-related protein 5]; also: factor H-related protein 5; approved gene symbol: CFHR5; previous gene symbol: CFHL5 [complement factor H-like 5]. FHR-5 belongs to a family of related factors (FHR-1, FHR-2, FHR-3, FHR-4), all of which are structurally related to complement factor H (for overview see: Skerka C et al, 2013; Józsi and Meri, 2014). FHR-5 has been identified as a human plasma protein and a universal component of complement deposits (McRae JL et al, 2001; Murphy B et al, 2002).
