ESP

[Eosinophil stimulation promoter] This activity is found in mitogen- or antigen-stimulated murine spleen cells infected with Schistosoma mansoni. It is produced also by granulomas induced by deposited eggs (Potter and Leid, 1986).

The ESP activity has been shown to result from the bioactivities of two synergizing factors, namely GM-CSF and IL5 (Secor et al, 1990).
