DEFB405

[Beta-Defensin-405] This is a bovine protein expressed in the mammary gland. It is a member of the Beta-Defensin family of antimicrobial peptides and may play a role in local host defense during udder infections (Roosen et al, 2004). The protein has been described also as BNBD-7, BNBD-9. The reported sequence fragment for DEFB404 suggests that this is DEFB405.
