BR3

[BLyS receptor 3; BAFF receptor 3] abbr. also BLySR3. This receptor for BLyS (identical with BAFF) has been identified by Yan et al (2001). In contrast to the other two known receptors for BAFF (TACI and BCMA), BR3 only binds BAFF. The BR3 gene is inactivated by an insertion in A/WySnJ mice, which lack peripheral B-cells.

The receptor is identical to BAFF-R. The approved gene symbol for BR3 is TNFRSF13C [TNF receptor superfamily member 13C].
