BCK

vBCK or viral BCK. A protein encoded by an open reading frame found in the genome of Kaposi sarcoma-associated herpesvirus and hence being referred to also as KSHV BCK protein [HHV-8 BCK protein] (KSHV K4.1 protein or HHV-8 K4.1 protein).

The protein of 114 amino acids is related to rat and murine MCP-1 and thus represents one of the viral chemokines (see: viral MIP-3).
