Angioprotectin

This peptide with the sequence PEVYIHPF (Pro-Glu-Val-Tyr-Ile-His-Pro-Phe) has been identified by Jankowski et al (2011) who point out that the peptide differs from angiotensin-2 in Pro¹ and Glu² instead of Asp¹ and Arg² and suggest that angioprotectin may be generated enzymatically from angiotensin-2. Angioprotectin antagonizes the contractile actions of angiotensin-2 on rat aortic rings.
