ADAMTSL4

[ADAMTS-like-4] See: TSRC1 [thrombospondin repeat containing protein 1].

ADAMTSL4 mutations have been shown to be the most common cause of ectopia lentis, a disorder characterised by abnormal stretching of the zonular fibers that leads to lens dislocation and visual impairment (for overview see: Neuhann et al, 2015).

Role in cancer

Tao et al (2013) have reported that expression levels of ADAMTSL4 are highly correlated with the lymph node and distant metastasis in patients with nasopharyngeal carcinoma. Serum ADAMTSL4 levels closely correlate with lymph node metastasis and clinical stage and can be used to discriminate between metastatic and non-metastatic tumors.

Chai R et al (2018) have reported that ADAMTSL4 is highly expressed in glioma cancer stem cells ... ... ... ... ... Subscribe to continue reading! ... ...
