[446 B-cell differentiation factor] This biochemically uncharacterized factor of approximately 32 kDa and a pI of 6.0 is produced and secreted by T-cells stimulated by antibodies directed against CD3.
The factor regulates terminal differentiation of B-cells (see also: BCDF), enhancing the synthesis of immunoglobulins by SAC-activated B-cells by a factor of 10-100.
This activity is not inhibited by antibodies directed against IL6 and is enhanced after passage over an affinity column with antibodies against IL6. Monoclonal antibodies generated against purified 446-BCDF do not inhibit differentiation of B-cells in response to IL2
