abbr. vCD30. This protein is encoded in the genome of Ectromelia virus (Ectromelia virus CD30; Mousepox virus CD30), open reading frame E13 (Ectromelia virus E13 protein; Mousepox virus E13 protein) and by Cowpox virus (Brighton Red strain).
vCD30 is a secreted protein. The protein shares extensive homology with the extracellular portion of murine and human CD30. vCD30 has been shown to bind specifically to the CD30 ligand and to completely inhibit interactions between CD30 and CD30 ligand (Panus et al, 2002).
