The peptides are cell-penetrating peptides also being referred to as DPVs [Diatos peptide vectors] (De Coupade et al, 2005). They are derived/modified from human heparin-binding proteins and/or anti-DNA antibodies and can deliver cargo molecule, including full-length active immunoglobulins, to either the cytoplasm or the nucleus of mammalian cells. The efficiency of protein transduction often ist greater than that of the cell-penetrating TAT cell penetrating peptide.
