[type B T-cell]
This term has been coined for a population of T-cells that are not a component of the normal immune response to proteins. These T-cells recognize atypical peptide-MHC complexes that are distinct from those generated after the processing of the whole protein. These complexes are generated by the interaction of antigen-presenting cells with free peptides or a denatured protein. Type B T-cells react in a non-conventional way in that they are activated by antigen-presenting cells that are loaded with soluble peptides, but are not activated by antigen-presenting cells pulsed with the parent protein of these peptides. The authors state that these unconventional T-cells
