abbr. TEPs; also Tumor-educated blood platelets; also: cancer-educated platelets, educated platelets. These collective terms refer to platelets that are found in tumors, where the interaction with cancer cells changes their phenotype, as shown by changes in gene expression, including of genes encoding receptors, various proteins and glycoproteins, adhesion molecules, nucleic acids.
