This peptide (EDKPFWPPPIYPM) from the extracts of skin of the orange-legged monkey frog, Phyllomedusa hypochondrialis (Wang R et al, 2014) is a member of a group of small (4-14 amino acids), heterogenous peptides, termed Tryptophyllins, which are found mostly in the skins of hylid frogs from the genera Phyllomedusa and Litoria. The peptide has been shown to relax the effects of bradykinin on phenylephrine-preconstricted rat tail artery segments. In addition, the peptide shows antiproliferative activity on human prostate cancer cell lines.
