relaxin 3a
This, and relaxin 3b, are teleost fish orthologs of human relaxin 3 (Wilson et al, 2009; Yegorov et al, 2009). The protein belongs to the relaxin-like peptide family. The genes encoding Relaxin-3a and the receptor, RXFP3, are expressed regardless of sex or reproductive condition (Wilson et al, 2009; Yegorov et al, 2009). Immunostaining is seen in mid to late follicular stages within cortical alveoli of the oocyte cytoplasm, whereas receptor staining is localized to follicular cells. Treatment with relaxin 3
