[antigen nonspecific inhibitor] This biochemically uncharacterized factor (30-35 and 69-65 kDa) is produced by human T-lymphocytes cultured in vitro for 5 days with Candida albicans purified polysaccharide (MPPS). nsINH blocks antigen-driven cell proliferation and the development of natural killer cells when added at the beginning of peripheral blood mononuclear cell culture. nsINH inhibits the production of IL1, IL2, the expression of IL2 receptor, and the synthesis of IFN-gamma. Addition of IL2 to the culture fully reverses the suppressive effect of nsINH.
