lipid-depleting factor

This biochemically uncharacterized factor is found in the serum of mice who develop cachexia when they are inoculated subcutaneously with colon-26 cells clone 20 (Inadera et al, 2002). The serum also causes lipolysis and inhibition of lipogenesis in differentiated murine 3T3-L1 adipocytes. The factor appears to be different from IL6 or TNF-alpha.
