abbr. LBLP. This peptide with sequence relationship to lactoferricin (RMKKLGNHKVSCERNTKRCRKAI) has been isolated from the whole bodies of adult centipedes, Scolopendra subspinipes mutilans (Choi H et al, 2013). The peptide is active against Candida albicans, Candida parapsilosis, Malassezia furfur, and Trichosporon beigelii. The antifungal and fungicidal activity is due to membrane permeabilization. The peptide is not hemolytic for erythrocytes.
