abbr. iSCs. The term induced Schwann cells has been used to refer to Schwann cells obtained from rodent and human fibroblasts by Two factor reprogramming. These cells, obtain by introduction of the two transcription factors, SOX10 and Egr32 (krox-20), resemble primary Schwann cells in global gene expression profiling and peripheral nerve system identity, and generate compact myelin sheaths with regular nodal structures in vitro (Mazzara et al, 2017).
