A poly-2-hydroxyethyl-methacrylate polymer. These polymers are biologically inert and are used for sustained release at constant rates of bioactive substances, including cytokines and growth factors. They have been used extensively in angiogenesis assays to evaluate the capacity of agents either to promote or to block the formation of new blood vessels.
