abbr. HTH. This activity was identified originally in extracts of bovine thymus (see also: thymic hormones) (Bernardi and Comsa, 1965). Comsa (1965) has reported that homeostatic thymus hormone completely suppress the consequences of thymectomy. Other activities attributed to this hormone are the restoration of antibody production in thymectomized animals. The hormone also appears to possess chemotactic activity for lymphocytes (Comsa, 1973).
