[histamine receptor H4] abbr. H4 (a term with multiple meanings); abbr. also: HH4R, or H4R; the approved gene symbol is HRH4. This is one of several histamine receptors.
Histamine receptor H4 has been described independently by Oda et al (2000) who referred to the cloned cDNA as G-protein-coupled receptor GPRV53. GPRV53 is expressed in peripheral blood leukocytes (eosinophils greater than neutrophils), spleen, thymus, and colon. Nguyen et al. (2001) have cloned the gene and referred to it as H4. Liu et al.
