hematopoietic stem cell chemotactic factor
This biochemically uncharacterized factor (larger than 200 kDa) is produced by murine bone marrow stromal cells (Cherry et al, 1994). The factor is most likely not identical with G-CSF, M-CSF, GM-CSF, SCF, IL6, or IL3. It attracts blastic cells in a low-density fraction, which are CD90(low), wheat germ agglutinin (WGA) high, H-2K high, (CD5(-), CD8-alpha(-), CD4(-), CD45(-), and slg (-).
