abbr. EG cells. This term has been used to refer to intestinal cells that produce enteroglucagons (Grimelius et al, 1976). Varndell et al (1985) have colocalized glicentin, GLP-1, and GLP-2 in these cells. Thus, these cells may be identical with L cells or a subset thereof.
