[collagen-6; type 6 collagen] abbr. also COL6. This collagen is being referred to also as short-chain collagen in older publications, due to the small size of its collagenous domains. It is known also as intimal collagen.
Collagen type 6 has been isolated by Chung et al (1976) from the intima of human aorta. Seemingly, the same collagen is found in bovine placenta (Jander et al, 1981) and human placenta (Furuto and Miller, 1981).
