bone-forming peptide-5 |
bone gamma-carboxyglutamate protein |
NCAM(545-559) |
||
this collective term has been used to refer to functionally related synthetic peptides derived from the bone morphogenetic protein BMP7 (see: BFP-1, BFP-2, BFP-3, BFP-4) or SDF-1-delta (see: BFP-5). These peptides promote bone regeneration / osteoblast development by promoting osteogenic differentiation in multipotent bone marrow stromal stem cells. It is not known whether these bioactive peptides can be generated from the parent protein by proteolytic processing and therefore might be considered as cryptides.
