[apolipoprotein E(133-167)] This bioactive peptide, LRVRLASHLRKLRKRLLRDADDLQKRLAVYQAGAR is an antimicrobial peptide that corresponds to residues 133-167 of human apolipoprotein E (see also: cryptides). It comprises the subsequence apoE(133-150) and shares many of the antimicrobial activities of the shorter peptide. apoE(133-167) has the ability to downregulate cytokine release induced by lipopolysaccharide and has significant antibiofilm properties. apoE(133-167) is not toxic towards human and murine cell lines
