Also: lactalbumin-alpha(17-31)S-S(109-114). This peptide is derived from alpha-lactalbumin and consists of the disulfide-bonded subfragments alpha-lactalbumin(17-31) with the sequence GYGGVSLPEWVCTTF and alpha-lactalbumin(109-114) with the sequence ALCSEK. The peptide is generated by trypsin digestion (Pellegrini et al, 1999) and has been shown to possess antimicrobial activities, being active against Gram-positive bacteria.
