[alpha-7 lin(+) cell]
Gahring et al (2013) have transgenic mice and reporter gene expression to mark cells and their progeny that express the Neuronal acetylcholine receptor subunit alpha-7, which is known to be involved in the modulation of inflammatory responses by nicotinic acetylcholine receptors.
In the adult, on average 20-25 % of the total CD45(+) myeloid cells and lymphoid cells of the bone marrow, blood, spleen, lymph nodes, and Peyers patches express this receptor subunit and also lineage markers. This hematopoietic alpha-7 lin(+) cell subpopulation is found also in Sca-1(+) c-kit(+) bone marrow cells
