[Yuk alloantigens]
This antigen has been identified on platelets and is associated with cases of neonatal alloimmune thrombocytopenia. The antigen exists in two alleles, termed Yuk(a) and Yuk(b) (Shibata et al, 1986) and resides on platelet glycoprotein GP3a (Sugano et al, 1992; Santoso et al, 1987). In the nomenclature of CD antigens this antigen has been given the designation CD61.
