This human pancreatic cancer cell line was established from the malignant ascites of a patient with pancreatic cancer (Yamada et al, 1998). YAPC cells form tumors in nude mice. The cells secrete a large amount of inflammatory cytokines including IL1-alpha), IL6 and IL8 into the conditioned medium.
