Vgamma9/Vdelta2 T-cells (Vgamma2/Vdelta2 T-cells in an alternative nomenclature) represent the majority of Gamma-Delta T-cells in peripheral blood (Holtmeier et al, 2001; Hinz et al, 1997; Dimova et al, 2015) and play an important role in immunity owing to their ability to induce multiple immune responses against common pathogens (for overview see: Morita et al, 2007; Zhao Y et al, 2018). Modulation of the activities of this cell type also suggests new immunotherapy modalities against certain types of diseases (for overview see: Wu et al, 2014), including cancer (for overview see: Raverdeau et al, 2019).
