[VEGF-A148] [Vascular endothelial growth factor-148] VEGF-148 is a splice variant of VEGF lacking exon 6, the terminal part of exon 7 and exon 8 (Whittle et al, 1999). It has been found to be expressed in 27 % of human glomeruli examined together with varying amounts of other splice variants. The physiological importance of this variant is not known.
