VEGF-121

[VEGF-A121] [Vascular endothelial growth factor-121] a splice variant of human VEGF (vascular endothelial growth factor). Some authors use the designation VEGF-121a (for an explanation of nomenclature see: VEGF-A). For an anti-angiogenic isoform of VEGF-121 see: VEGF-121b.

Houck et al (1991) have reported that VEGF-121 is mitogenic for endothelial cells.
