[Usher cell]
This cell type has been identified by Li D et al (2018) during an analysis of hematopoietic stem cells/hematopoietic progenitor cells. homing in caudal hematopoietic tissue of zebrafish, which is the equivalent to the fetal liver in mammals. Usher cells are a population of macrophages expressing VCAM-1 (CD106) (hence: CD106(+) macrophages or VCAM-1(+) macrophages) These cells patrol the inner surface of the venous plexus, interacts with hematopoietic stem cells/hematopoietic progenitor cells
