[tumor rejection antigen 1] This is a tumor-associated transplantation antigen identified in chemically induced sarcomas of inbred mice (Srivastava and Das, 1984; Srivastava et al, 1986). Maki et al (1990) have identified the gene encoding the human homolog of this protein. The protein is known also as tumor rejection antigen gp96 or stress-inducible tumor rejection antigen GP96. The protein shows homology to heat shock proteins and is identical with heat shock protein GP96.
