[TG-cell]
This is a term used in older publications for a subpopulation of human T-cells that can be isolated on the basis of their possession of membrane Fc receptors for IgM (Jensen, 1982). These cells display suppressor T-cell activity (Barr and Stevens, 1982; Ludwig et al, 1983). The presence of these TG-cells in a colony formation assay causes a decrease in the emergence of granulocyte-macrophage progenitor cells (CFU-GM) (Barr and Stevens, 1982).
